Comments about Surge Premium Leather Sheath:

Great sheath, tough, easy to use build. A little big but that's because it's designed to carry other hardware accessories at the same time. I crawl through a lot of attics and work in other places where I scrape against thing, and this sheath has held up its end.

Comments about Surge Premium Leather Sheath:

I got the sheath with the tool, and within a few hours on my hip, it was broken at the belt loops. The sheath is too large to carry vertically and gain easy access to my pocket, so I tried horizontal carry. As I was getting into my car, the sheath caught on the door frame and broke the two bottom sections either side of the lower belt loop hole. It didn't slide on my belt or twist out of the way, it just broke. I have carried a Leatherman Juice XE6 every day for the last 8 years and the leather sheath is simple and the belt clip never gave me any trouble, but it did wear out eventually in the elastic sides. The Surge is twice the size of the Juice and requires a sturdy pouch. Unfortunately this one isn't up to the job

Comments about Surge Premium Leather Sheath:

I never leave the house without my Leatherman tool. After many years of hard use the original sheath wore out and I needed a replacement. This sheath is nice for the fact that it holds the multitool snug. Unfortunately the quality is not as good as the tool it carries. I went through three of these leather sheaths in as many weeks. The leather belt loop on the back of the sheath is only attached to the sheath at four points and is very thin and weak. It broke at these points very easily and the sheath and tool would fall off my belt and I actually lost one of my Surge tools because of it. I voiced my complaints to Leatherman and they were nice enough to send me what they thought would be the answer, the Molle sheath which for me is too big and awkward to use so I have had to resort to using the sheath from my old Super tool 200 which doesn't have a spot to store the file in sheath so that I have had to leave it at home. I hope that in the future Leatherman will finally make a better quality sheath for the Surge, hopefully similar to the original sheath for the Wave.
