Oh No You Don't
My son is in the military and was stationed in NYC. My wife and and I went to visit and take in some of the sites. So the three of us go on the Liberty and Ellis Island tour. Waiting in line for the boat, I had no idea you went thru security similar to flying. I took my Leatherman (PST Guy) and loaded in the bucket to go thru the scanners. All of the sudden I hear someone yell,"we got a knife". They dug the tool out of the bucket and asked if it was mine. I responded yes, "But it's a multi tool, not a knife". The man asked if there was a blade in it; I was caught. So I start pleading with the security officer. "Officer, that thing is older than my grown son. Please, can't you save it for my return or can I ship it?" While I was pleading my case, my 20 year old was digging out his military ID. The officer, while completely ignoring my requests, looked at the ID and handed the tool to my son. I thought, yeah, we are much safer now with it in his hands rather than mine. The bottom line was my son kept me from losing and old, trusted, true friend.
Keep up the good work, and, I never leave home without it.
