Hunting Equipment
I had a C305 folding knife. I carried it all the time. I am a firefighter and found it to be as handy as the Leatherman Super Tool I purchased several years ago.
While elk hunting in Idaho I spotted a Bull in a small herd of elk. I had to get to them quickly so I Ieft my backpack on the 4 wheeler. After moving up a side trail I was able to take a shot. The elk ran a bit and I had to climb up about 1000 feet to get to them. The one I shot was down. It was then I realized that I had all the knives back on the 4 wheeler and it was 5 pm with about 45 minutes left of light. Only having a C305 in my pocket I whipped it out and began the gutting job so the meat wouldn't spoil. Now elk hides are tough and a normal knife would need re-sharpening before the job was done, however this knife did great. As a friend who suffered the same experience said I was so glad to have "a" knife, but for me more so because of the knife itself. Happy as a puppy. However I have lost this knife during a vehicle extrication and giving this opportunity to find out if one is still available or what Leatherman suggests as a replacement. It's been fun. Thanks.
