I was stationed in Iraq and during a convoy my HUMVEE was directly struck by and IED which we found out later had consisted of two 105 Shells. My TC was badly injured and I took frag in my right leg and arm and was thrown 28 feet from my vehicle but otherwise fine. My weapon (M4withM203) Was cracked in half and bent at the barrel. Our Vehicle was compleatly destroyed and almost non recognizable. Luckely no one was killed but my TC lost part of his left arm. My weapon, nighvision equipment, (pvs14) and other military equipment was destroyed but my Leatherman Surge was found 125 feet away from the blast area still intact and in perfect working order. I still carry that same Surge and use it almost every day. Thanks for making a rock hard product!
