Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Thank you for the Surge

Dear all at Leatherman, Thank you for the Surge. It is a fantastic multitool, and, I think, slightly underestimated. It must be one (if not the) of the most versatile multitools ever. The T-shank switchable blades allow one to have a real toolbox in the form of a single multitool. I carry the Surge in the nylon seath together with -two T-shank metal saws -the Leatherman bit kit -the Leatherman bit extension -some duct tape and some wire -a small torch, and I am almost complete. I would like to add that great aspects of the Surge are the heavy pliers (heavier wouldn't harm), the large scissors, the large blades, and, of course, the bits! If you were to upgrade the Surge, please consider the following: -make the bit holder on the tool tougher. I would like to feel more comfortable to really apply heavy torque fastening and unfastening bolts using the bits. -We would like the replacable cutter inserts of the new Supertool, although I am not convinced they outperform the Surge's wire cutters. -please improve the awl, as it is dwarfed in performance by humble tools as the Victorinox Pioneer. You also may want to consider designing a European bit kit, replacing the imperial allen bits with smaller torx bits (very useful when fettling with mobile phones). Closing, I would like to thank you again for this priceless tool. With gratitude and best regards, Dr. Vgenis Athanasios Patras, Greece
