welded while jump starting
I was working on a small boat for the Navy and the solenoid for the starter went out. Since I new that it is possible to jump the solenoid and get the engine to start. On my first attempt I accidentally crossed the wrong contacts and the electrical current left weld marks on my leatherman supertool 300 jaw and the handle. I tried again and managed to get the right contacts and the engine started. Found out afterward that I could have been electrocuted because it wasn't insulated. Just got my leatherman back after sending into get repaired because I broke every screwdriver and the file on it. I am thinking that i should have bought a new one and cannibalized it and put the guts from the new one in the old one, then sent the new back to leatherman for repair. It would have been nice to keep the old one with the weld marks.
