I started work as a farm mechanic three years ago. At the time, I was the owner of a Victorinox "Mechanic" knife. More than a few times in the field I had the need for a good set of pliers. The Swiss Army knife's pliers just weren't up to the job. I had to phone the boss to bring me a real tool. He saw me trying to pull the release pins off a tractor's 3-point hitch with my Victornox. "Put that @#$%&*! thing away," he said, and deployed his Leatherman. This must have happened a dozen times or so before my first Christmas at the farm. The boss handed me a small box and said "You should take this as an insult." Inside the box was a Leatherman Wave. It's rare that a day passes when I don't use the thing. Sometimes I simply have to beat its durable body against stubborn objects, using the thing as a hammer. No complaints. It's an excellent device, and I've used every tool on it numerous times. Everybody should own one.
