Leatherman Saved My Life

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Tried and True

I am in the US Navy, and in 2006 I deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 18 to Al Anbar, Iraq. One of our duties was to set up and or repair/replace Hescoe security barriers around our combat outpost (COP). These barriers varied in sizes, from 2 to 7 feet tall. They are shipped on pallets and after changing hands so many times they would usually arrive damaged. But with safety (and speed) being our first priority, we had to use them regardless of the condition that they were in so we ended up making repairs on the fly.

I cannot count the number of times that I used my Leatherman to pull, push, straighten or even cut the connecting ribs and rods that allowed us to setup our security perimeters quickly and without too much down time. My Leatherman came in handy for countless other jobs and missions, from repairing a comms system, cleaning out my weapon and tightening down our armored vehicles. Needless to say, my Leatherman was always with me.

But I had never used the warranty until just last month. One of the locks had snapped off and I was thinking about just buying another multi tool. I thought that my tool would no longer be covered and honestly, I just hate dealing with warranties. But my buddy told me about your warranty. So I gave it a shot. Around three weeks later, my Leatherman was replaced, no questions asked. I've used other multi tools but NONE of the others compare in quality and functionality. Add to that the outstanding level of customer service and well, do I really need to tell you that you have a Leatherman customer for life? Hoo-Rah!
