Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Micra Pumps Tyre

My first Leatherman was a Micra. It might be small but it was there when I needed help on the road. I drove over a peice of metal on the hiway which punctured a rear tyre on my work pickup. When I wanted to replace the flat with the spare I found out that someone had removed the jack and wheel spanner! What now? I had a CO2 fire extinguisher on the pickup that theoreticaly could inflate the tyre. But the fire extinguisher has a big cone on the end so won't fit on the valve. This is where my Leatherman Micra came to the rescue.

with the small blade I cut through the outer rubber on the hose then used the thin flat screwdriver to break the wire braid and the knife again for the inner hose. Then it was easy to pump the tyre and travel a few km back to work. The fire extinguisher was good for about 4 fills.
