For years multi-tool users could choose from two distinct options when it came to a "one-hand-operable" multi-tool: one-hand-opening pliers OR one-hand-opening blades. Today, Leatherman has taken these two well-loved ideas and fused them into the first ever, 100% one-hand-operable multi-tool, the Leatherman OHT. This industry-first tool features spring-loaded pliers and wire-cutters so you don't tire your hand adjusting and readjusting your grip. Handles with visual imprints of the tool beneath make for quick identification. A lifesaving strap cutter and oxygen bottle wrench, threading for common-size cleaning rods and much more make this a one-handed workhorse of a tool.

OHT® Tools

  1. Spring-action Needlenose Pliers

A precise cast pinching tool for holding or manipulating materials, ideal for small objects or tight spaces, that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  2. Spring-action Regular Pliers

A precise cast pinching tool for holding or manipulating materials, that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  3. Spring-action 154CM Replaceable Hard-wire Cutters

Replaceable bypassing cutting blades crafted from 154CM with spring loaded opening, meant for cutting extra-hard wires. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  4. Spring-action 154CM Replaceable Wire Cutters

Replaceable bypassing cutting blades crafted from 154CM with spring loaded opening, meant for cutting regular and light wires. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

A knife crafted from 420HC, a high-carbon stainless steel that is corrosion resistant and can be easily maintained.

  6. 420HC Serrated Knife

  7. Saw

  8. Strap Cutter

A 440 stainless steel replaceable v-notch cutter ideal for cutting through straps, seatbelts, canvas, and other fabric-based materials. The cutter is reversible, allowing the user to unscrew and rotate for a new cutting surface.

  10. Can Opener

  16. Small Screwdriver

A flat bladed screwdriver tooled from 420HC stainless steel, intended for use on small slotted screws.

OHT® Features

  1. All Locking Features

All locking features means that every tool and knife on the body of the handle, with the exception of the plier head, will lock into place. Note that the Crunch; however, does feature both all locking tools and plier head. The all locking design enables the user to operate individual tools safely and effectively. By locking them into place when fully open, the user can put pressure on the implement while safely completing the job, before manually unlocking the tool to stow it away.

  2. Jaw Lockout

A feature that locks the plier jaws in place, safely preventing the jaws from slipping into the handles during use.

  3. Outside-accessible Features

This multi-tool features tools that are accessible while the tool is in its folded or closed position, mimicking the functionality of a pocket knife.

  4. One-hand Operable Features

Every feature on this tool can be opened and operated with one hand. This enables the user to keep the other hand free for situations that require multi-tasking or a free hand.

  5. Imprinted Handle Scales

Handles on this multi-tool are imprinted with images of the tool underneath, allowing a user to easily feel for the correct tool while in dark or limited-visibility situations.

This multi tool is great for working on a boat. I'm a duck hunting guide and a crabber so it's perfect when you can only use one hand. It's handy to have around for when a gun jams and you have to fix it

      Comments about OHT:

I got the OHT for my fiance, Andrew, a former Army Scout. I'd heard him rave about the one he'd had in the Army and knew he'd love to have one again. I knew from years watching my dad with his that Leatherman was great so I jumped at the chance to pick this beauty up. It isn't quite the same as the one Andrew had but he loves it just the same. He uses it for everything and spent the first week showing it off. Best gift ever.

An excellent secondary tool. I bought 1 for myself & my son, monogrammed. We're both in the Elevator industry. Its always on my belt clip. I use it when I'm accidently away from my toolbox. It is abit heavy but what do u expect for durability. The sheath it came, didnt last long. Bought a strong canvas cell case for it. I would like to see an awl on it.

Finally something can be opened with the left hand. The 100% one-handed claim is not quite there yet, still needs a bit of work to get a left handed version of a multi-tool. This is the first from ANY vendor that even comes close. I very much look forward to the next generation of this and hope to see it integrated into tools like the wave which I use absolutely daily. I am constantly opening my wave right-handed and swapping to my left due to I am left handed and have more dexterity in my left.

The tool overall is great. The pliers do wiggle around some but I think that's due to the sliding function. I would love to see you guys/girls take another shot at the OHT to perfect it.

          Comments about OHT:

The OHT is a great product, very tuff and very comfortable to use, my only issue is the lack of a file, I use the file all the time, I would recommend modifying the Phillips screw driver to combine the oxygen wrench with the Phillips screw driver, and combine the strap cutter with the serrated knife as on the Charge TTI, then you can add the metal/ wood file to the OHT, I do a lot of wood carving at work and at home and the file is great for on the go smoothing of wood carvings, I also use the metal file on job sites to create a flat surface on bolt threads so I can drill through the bolts to add a cotter pin. There is so many occasions when I need to smooth a surface, for me the file is a must. I work at the SMITHSONIAN National Zoo in Washington DC and I build animal habitats, animal enrichment devices, aka toys, and do a lot of work in the animals living environments, and you have to be sure to leave surfaces smooth, no sharp edges, animals are curious and will thoroughly investigate every add on and modification to the environment, so no sharp edges. Otherwise, great job LEATHERMAN design staff.

I have plenty of leatherman multi tools, I honestly love them all. I have too give this 5 stars B/C the objective was to have the worlds first one hand multi tool, and mission accomplished! yes the blades are shorter than I would like but there was no way to make them longer and still have it one hand operable. the only con is that b/c the handles are so straight when deployed it gives this too bad leverage when using the wire cutters on something hard like a nail, I just cant get it threw, with the charge, surge, and rebar I have no problem! but for easier cutting task it works great! I am truly looking forward to the next generation of the oht

Excellent Leatherman, but not all around the greatest.

perfect for fishing, seems like a light duty multi tool to me, one handed work for prying hooks out of fishes mouths, snipping the occasional line, cutting a thin rope/ any line with the gut hook.

Blades are just all a little too small, another inch would be perfect, i would prefer there to be no screwdrivers at all and have larger blades. In a boat though, you dont really need a 4 inch blade, 2 suffices.

Only use for me this tool brings is a fishing tool. Ill save my super-tool 200 for back at camp.

              Comments about OHT:

I currently own three Leatherman tools, the New Wave, Skeletool, and the OHT. My favorite tool is the OHT for several reasons. One handed operation, finish, durability, and ease of use are the top reasons why I carry this tool everyday.
The OHT is an awesome tool that shares a lot in common with other Leatherman tools as far as features(one handed operation being unique among them) and the types of tools it has but, it is not without room for improvement. As stated above, I also own the new Wave so I immediately noticed the lack of bit driver on the OHT. The OHT also seems to have an abundance of flat headed screwdrivers which could have easily been eliminated by simply adding the bit drive and thus increase the number jobs the OHT can handle. Overall, these are minor issues and the tools one handed ability, durability/finish, and the welcome addition of some of the more rare tools like the strap cutter and replaceable 154cm cutters far outweigh the negatives.
If you are in law enforcement, military, or other professional service, or if you are a do it yourselfer, you will love this tool. Even a casual user will appreciate this one,

              Comments about OHT:

This thing blows Gerber outta the water. Very happy with the OHT, however it's not perfect. I feel that three, count em, THREE flat head screw drivers is over the top. You could sacrifice one of those for a bit driver, and have room enough for something else; like scissors. I'm a stickler about scissors; I love em on a multi-tool. I think if you got enough room for three flat head screw drivers, you have (had) enough room for a pair of scissors.

The oxy tank wrench is a nice touch, but the gut-hook is really tiny. It might as well not even be there, honestly. For a tool that's focus is Military/Law Enforcement/EMS, you don't need a sheeps foot AND a saw blade. I've never been doing something on the job, and wished I had both, before. Unnecessary. The MUT doesn't have both, because it doesn't need it. One of those could be sacrificed for a heavy duty pair of scissors, or a flip up carabiner or something.

The blades on this thing are too small, but I don't really need to get into that. I'm willing to bet everyone recognizes that, and wishes they were bigger. And it seems everybody has the same complaints the sheath. All in all, it's a good tool. However, I'm hoping that the future generations of the OHT bring much needed improvements.

Its a great tool, but the sheath is cheap and poorly designed. For a tool built for First Responder, it should have a sheath built for a duty style belt.

This is all I would expect from a Leatherman tool- quality, smooth operation, excellent fit and finish, versatile.

My only complaint is that the tan-colored nylon sheath is cheaply made with crooked seams and rough edges. Really Leatherman? To save a little money by including this piece-o-garbage instead of a better quality sheath diminishes your brand.
