With the new Rebar, Leatherman fans will immediately recognize the iconic box-like shape found in Tim Leatherman's original PST design. The Rebar pliers have been optimized for strength and feature replaceable wire/hard-wire cutters—a first for a four-inch tool from Leatherman. With all the features to get even the toughest jobs done, in a smaller, slimmer size, the new Rebar is sure to be an instant hit on job sites and home projects the world over.

Rebar® Tools

  1. Needlenose Pliers

A cast pinching tool with an angled nose for holding or manipulating materials, ideal for small objects or tight spaces.

  2. Regular Pliers

A cast pinching tool for holding or manipulating materials.

  3. 154CM Replaceable Wire Cutters

Replaceable bypassing cutting blades crafted from 154CM, meant for cutting regular and light-gauge wire. 154CM will keep its edge three times as long as traditional stainless steel for less down-time in the field.

  4. 154CM Replaceable Hard-wire Cutters

Replaceable bypassing cutting blades crafted from 154CM, meant for cutting hard wire. 154CM will keep its edge three times as long as traditional stainless steel for less down-time in the field.

  5. Electrical Crimper

Found in the jaw of the tool and used for general purpose crimping of electrical connectors.

  6. Wire Stripper

A useful notch for safely stripping multiple types of wire.

  7. 420HC Knife

A knife crafted from 420HC, a high-carbon stainless steel that is corrosion resistant and can be easily maintained.

  8. 420HC Serrated Knife

A toothed blade crafted from 420HC stainless steel. Serrations grab and cut materials easily, making this style of blade exceptionally useful for cutting through rope or fiber.

  9. Saw

A toothed tool made from 420HC stainless steel that is designed to work on a pull motion, which requires less effort and has less propensity for breakage. The open-tooth design keeps the saw from filling up with material, allowing the user to complete a job without pausing to clean the tool.

  10. Awl w/ Thread Loop

An awl is a tool that can be used to create or enlarge holes by puncturing materials such as leather or canvas. They can also be used to start stair steps for hunting stands. The thread loop can be used for sewing materials together when necessary.

  11. Ruler (8 in | 19 cm)

A precise measuring guide for determining length in inches or centimeters, up to 8 inches or 19 centimeters.

  12. Can Opener

A lever/punch style tool to assist in opening canned goods, perfect for camping or in survival situations. The blade on this tool has been ground in a way that it pushes the cut metal into the rim, keeping sharp edges from cutting the user as the can is handled.

  13. Bottle Opener

A tool that allows the user to pop the top on a favorite beverage.

  14. Wood/Metal File

A 420HC stainless steel tool with a crisscross pattern that forms a rough surface for the user to file or smooth both wood and metal surfaces. The file pattern on Leatherman files is extended to the end of the file as well as down the side to give a file stoke and/or a more precise file edge.

  15. Phillips Screwdriver

Created originally by Henry F. Phillips, this screwdriver is for use on Phillips head screws.

  16. Large Screwdriver

A flat bladed screwdriver tooled from 420HC stainless steel, intended for use on larger slotted screws.

  17. Small Screwdriver

A flat bladed screwdriver tooled from 420HC stainless steel, intended for use on small slotted screws.

Rebar® Features

  1. All Locking Features

All locking features means that every tool and knife on the body of the handle, with the exception of the plier head, will lock into place. Note that the Crunch; however, does feature both all locking tools and plier head. The all locking design enables the user to operate individual tools safely and effectively. By locking them into place when fully open, the user can put pressure on the implement while safely completing the job, before manually unlocking the tool to stow it away.

  2. Lanyard Ring

This secure ring is for attaching the tool safely and securely to a lanyard. Often people who work near water or on scaffolding attach their tool to a lanyard on their person to avoid losing the tool if it's dropped.

      Comments about Rebar:

I had the PST and after many years failed. Letterman replaced it no questions asked with the Rebar. Seems to be an improved version of the PST. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the nylon sheath and return to the leather versions.

        Comments about Rebar:

I received my Rebar as a replacement for my Blast when it had a broken screwdriver, and I thought it would be hard to find a replacement for that tool. Was I surprised! Not only did Leatherman come thru for me in record time, but they sent me a tool that surpassed the Blast! I've used every tool in the Rebar, and it hasn't let me down yet. I like the Philips head screwdriver and how it has improved over my beloved PST. The saw has come thru for me when I've cleared brush while up in a tree putting in a treestand, and the pliers and straight edge screwdriver are awesome while working on my 71 VW Camper. Great tool Leatherman!

I got one of these as a warranty replacement for my Leatherman Wave (Loved the Wave). The first Rebar came apart within a few weeks - one of the screw posts that hold the tools came unthreaded and wouldn't stay tight. Sent it back and got another Rebar. The second one's jaws twisted so they don't come together and the file corroded so it's unusable. Sorry but after 25 years carrying a Leatherman, I'm buying a Gerber.

Had to return it as it couldn't be used. The tool was so "stiff" it wouldn't open. I had to pry it open with another tool. I worked it back and forth for quite some time but it was still too stiff to open without the assistance of another tool and use once opened. What ever happened to quality control?? This tool should have never left the factory.

                  Comments about Rebar:

I bought my first leatherman about 25 years ago and while the blades have gone dull and the wire cutters are shot the quality of the tool was far superior to the equivalent tool (Rebar) I just bought. Leatherman has decided to really cut corners since 25 years ago unfortunately. The metal does not have that heavy feel anymore like a durable tool should have. The tools themselves don't pull out our push in smoothly like they used to. Even the leather holder was changed to thin, stiff, lesser quality leather. I was surprised at how leatherman cut corners and really disappointed.

This is a great multi tool especially because of the pliers and its awesome 154cm premium replaceable wire cutters. It's also great for outdoors since it has an awl which some tools like the wave doesnt. ALthough it does not have interchangeable bits, they do have the bits that you will use the most and they are very sturdy, have long shanks, and do more serious torque. I owned the black oxide version but unfortunately i lost it while out and i was very upset. But i bought another one stainless steel because it was my favorite.

My problem is an addiction to knives. Good knives. I love these multitools. With a cup of coffee and some time in an afternoon, we could debate the finer points of each different model.

I did not realized how bad this addiction was, however, until my trusty sideclip broke. Broke from near daily use for 15 or more years. This tool replaced 90% of my toolbox for years of service calls on the road. The thing that impressed me the most was the outstanding quality of the Phillips screwdriver, on par with professional mechanics screwdrivers.

I tried the nearest replacement I could find, the kick. The pocket clip is on the wrong end. Tried wingman. Too bulky, but like the blister pack opener. Sent sideclip for warranty, got another wingman, lost it fishing (my bad). Got a supertool. Great knife but really big. Got a wave. Probably my second favorite. Juice cs4. Fantastic in the pocket, but not the same.

Just found a new old-stock sideclip. Two actually. Will this stop my addiction to knives? Don't know, but just bought a rebar, so not looking good. But, I've found any of these knives to be incredible. Did I mention the PST? First one I ever got, and still have. Micra? In my travel suitcase. I need help. :)

I have owned various multi tools through the years and decided last year to spend the extra cash on the real deal. I was blown away by the quality and durability and can honestly say that this is the only multi tool to spend your money on. Each tool component is the best that I have ever had on a multi tool and I have used everything from box store brands to Gerber. Mine is never far away and always with me on family camping trips.

This is at least my sixth Leatherman product, and I have also owned a Victorinox and Gerber. I was excited about the replaceable wire cutters on this tool, after damaging same on previous I bought this one as soon as I saw it. I often do electrical service on rural installations in East Africa without prior planning, so I prefer something handy and versatile, this tool is very good for minor electrical work.

Initially I was impressed with the product, as the unique anodization on the folding tools made operation smoother without the typical break-in required. However, after a few months, the tools on one side (saw, philips screwdriver, can opener, and serrated blade) became so loose that they can open just with gravity. This results in rattling when in use and occasional difficulty in closing, if for example the saw opens against the smooth blade on the other handle.

I believe this problem to be in incorrect manufacturing force on the rivet on this handle, but I am unaware if my problem is common or isolated. The tool has also developed rust on the anodized finish, unlike on other stainless tools which are rust free, but I am not concerned about this.

I will return this item for warranty when possible, but I am not so often in the US and must endure the current nuisance for a few more months. In general, I do like the tool and would recommend it.

I got the Leatherman ''PULSE'' as a gift 17 years ago, only last month it needed repair, but unfortunatley this model is retired. However the agent in Malta replaced my ''PULSE'' with a ''REBAR'' that's what I call great service.
