A common guy’s tale
Dear Leatherman, I am no airplane pilot, mechanic, or engineer. I am just an ex Boy Scout who enjoys his free time going outdoors for some trekking trips. Many years of scouting taught me how important a pocket knife could be, and for a long time a carry a Swiss Army knife. But that was until I realized I needed a pair of pliers in my gear. I bought a Juice cs4 because it is the perfect fusion between versatility and hardness, and still keeps the romantic touch of a corkscrew.
This year, some folks and I decided to watch car races called Rallys. The races are done on gravel roads in the middle of nowhere, far away from any town or city. So we traveled with a friend’s car to the closer town, but to reach the place where the event was actually happening, we had to leave the car there and walk...a lot. In this type of race the public spends their time drinking wine and eating barbecue, and so that’s what we did and that’s when my Leatherman started to feel useful, most of all, the corkscrew and can opener. But my Leatherman really shined when we got back to the car and found that the car keys where inside the vehicle.
With all doors locked there was no way in. So I took my tool out of my pocket and used the wire cutters to cut one of the iron sticks from the barbecue grill. With some difficulty I bent the stick forming a hook and was then able to remove the rubber protection from the window and get the hook inside the door to reach the locking mechanism. I unlocked the car door; we recovered the keys and returned home safely. That’s how your tool saved my day. Thank you.

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
