The Leatherman (Equipped) Family
Hi Leathermaners, I've always had multi tools, but a couple of years ago I was in Tallahassee, FL on sabbatical and bought a Charge Ti. That tool was used to fix cupboard doors in our apartment, modify umbrellas to make sure they withstood Florida storms, and helped get our old car going again when it popped. We traveled extensively, but with that Ti I was always sure I could get us to where we were going... and back again. I bought my wife a Juice while we were in FL, and she was skeptical... well skepticism has turned to reliance.
She proudly uses the Juice to solve problems she never would previously have tackled! Indeed, I thought I was the Leatherman fan in the family but it seems I've been outdone. I've just bought our daughter her first Leatherman, a Squirt. But buying one of your tools is more than just buying a tool. For us it is a statement, it's brushing aside adversity and just making things happen in the face of challenge, and for a young woman, I think that's important.
I see your tools on two levels. First, as damn fine tools, capable of resolving practical problems facing travelers, homeowners, and tradesmen. Second, as tools that empower, tools that help young folk tackle challenges and assert their independence. Tools that encourage a "can-do" attitude! Thanks for great tools, and the sense of assurance that come with them.

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
