MICRA – REALLY MISS IT WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE IT

I have had a Leatherman Micra for about 10 years now, and apart from when I am on a plane, it is always in my pocket. In that time, I have used every single tool multiple times, with the scissors or knife, cutting everything from paper, plastic, wood, leather, plastic, foam, wires, my finger (damn, that knife is sharp), putting together furniture, pulling splinters, fixing glasses, electrical items, even had use for the ruler to gauge whether the item I was buying would fit in the gap I had at home.

A couple of years ago, while on a bus, it slipped out of my pocket and it was gone, and for a few days, before I bought a replacement, I was Leathermanless. It was during that time I realized how much I actually use it, I got a splinter in my hand, and no Micra, so no pincer; I had to wait until I got home to pull it out. The screw came off my glasses, and I had to look for an optician to re-insert the screw. These little incidents just accelerated my re-purchase of a Micra. I felt soooo much better after I had a Micra with me again.

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
