Been There, Done That
Durability and reliability is a big thing to be. I am a Soldier in the US Army (Medic) and have been for 13 years. During that time I have learned that a good multi-tool is a must for any situation or environment. My own preferred multi-tool is a good ol' Leatherman Super-Tool that has been with me and gone everywhere for 10 years. That's right, TEN YEARS! I've used it in the field, in office settings, for work and personal use. I've come to depend on it for everything from simple functions (like clipping wire or pulling nails) to not-so-expected tasks (cutting bandages or clothing when emergency shears were not around). I have used and abused my Leatherman in every conceivable way imaginable. It may not be pretty or shiny as the day I bought it, but it works as well as the time I used it in 2000.
Whatever you are doing to keep these tools working like they do, please don't stop doing it!

Tell Us Your Tale
OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
