Leatherman Saved My Life

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Building a Robot?

Christmas morning, I asked for 2 things, a Leatherman and a new skateboard. I am very pleased to tell you that I got both. Being in Canada, I have not been able to use my new board at all.

However, I have been putting many miles on my new Leatherman Skeletool CX. I am the head member of my school's robotics club. We build a robot every year to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition. This is a competition held every year across Canada and the USA. On our robot this year we have been using a lot of chain. The way that you put chain together is to attatch these tiny little clips between the two ends. All the pliers in our tool box are not true enough at the tip to complete this task easily. However, when I brought my Skeletool in I was able to attach these pins in very easily. After I was done with this I noticed that we still had to attach some electronics onto the robot. I knew that there was a screwdriver on the tool, but I had never actually had a chance to try it. I was very impressed. Now it is the only tool I ever use while building anything. I only wish that I was allowed to carry it around with me during the school day.
