Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Wave Saved Me 14 Miles

I was out riding my dirt bike about 14 miles away from the truck when the gas cable broke. Luckily it had broken with some length to it. After calming down a bit I pulled my Leatherman Wave out, disassembled the throttle grip with the screw driver, stripped the cable back far enough to get a decent grip on the actual metal and started my bike. I squeezed the cable with the needle nose and gently pulled the cable to give gas all the way back. It was a slow ride, never taking it out of first gear, but my Wave saved me 14 miles of pushing through creeks and up hills. I did make it home for dinner.
