Skeletools and Trees
I own a plethora of Leatherman multi-tools, ranging from the tiny Squirt thru the mammoth Wave. Right now however my everyday knife has become the Skeletool. It's nice and versatile; nothing I don't need.
While out pruning trees with my grandfather the other day a limb got stuck in some others. Fearing an oncoming storm the next day we didn't want to leave it hanging like that. No matter how high we climbed our scaffolding or how far we reached with hooks and poles and whatever else we could find, we could not get a hold of that branch. Knowing the strength, grace, durability and warranty of my trusty Skeletool and all Leatherman products, I hatched a plan. We grabbed some rope and tied the knife to the end of it as a weight. I swung it above my head like a lasso and the first few tries were unsuccessful for sure! But soon we hooked my knife around the renegade branch and gave a tug. The limb came crashing down with my knife all intertwined inside of it. I knew my trusty sidekick was OK though. After hopping down and untangling the knife, I found it just as it had exited my pocket! Good as new and not a scratch on it! My grandpa and I had a good chuckle about it. We realized at that point we weren't professional pruners by any means.
