American Made versus Chinese produced...no contest!
I had one of the black PST Leatherman. It had MADE IN USA stamped on it at the swivel where the pliers go together. I loved it because it was the perfect size to fit my pocket and I used it every day to do something! I carried it for thousands of miles and was always proud to pull it out when anyone needed a screwdriver or a knife or some tool they didn't have.
I went to south Louisiana to help some friends try to collect their belongings after Hurricane Katrina and my friend borrowed my tool momentarily to open a cardboard box. She mistakenly laid it on the side of my truck bed and without knowing it was there I drove off. In a few minutes I was back looking for my Leatherman. She told me she laid it on my truck and the search was on for the rest of the day. Up and down the entire street, the highway ditches and in every crawfish hole! We never did locate it and I returned home to north Louisiana sad about it and wishing I had never gone on that trip.
Since then I have tried to find the same Leatherman PST (black) and to no avail. Why don't you make some retro models for folks who really enjoyed their American Made Multi-tools! I would buy several if I had the opportunity.
Thank you,
