A Must For Anyone That Doesn't Sit At A Desk
I have had the same Leatherman Wave for 6 years now and I have worn it proudly on my belt almost every day for that entire time. I used it working at the zoo for two years, on sampling trips chest deep in wetlands, and on construction sites. It had never failed me in any task and any time I had to take it off I felt, quite honestly, naked.
We would always argue at the zoo over what the best multi-tool type was--mainly between Gerber and Leatherman--and I will always back my Leatherman. While my co-workers broke their tools or didn't find them useful enough to wear around frequently, I was the go-to guy for usefulness and reliability. My roommate also has a Gerber and insists on defending it, but it is curious how he always asks me for mine.
I lost my Wave a few months ago and haven't had the money to buy a new tool, and on some level I really do feel like I'm walking around unprepared and naked. I plan on purchasing a Charge TTi soon as a replacement. I can't stand not having a multi-tool on my belt!
