Saved a Call to AAA

Nothing 'Award Winning' but the reason I have carried a Wave ever since this happened.

While driving home one day several years ago, my car started sputtering then died out on the road between Victorville and Lancaster, California. I was running later than usual picking up my kids and did not look forward to calling AAA and waiting for a tow AND paying overtime for the sitter. After looking under the hood, I found that a spark plug had 'backed' out and was still attached to the spark plug wire. But, of course, the engine was hot and I needed to get back on the road. My wife had recently given me a Leatherman WAVE to replace my broken Swiss Army knife. With my Leatherman WAVE, I was able to get the spark plug back in the hot engine and tighten it up enough that I was able to cancel the emergency AAA call and get to the sitter just in time to pick up the kids without having to pay overtime rates.

I am a field technician, and since then have always used a Leatherman for working on equipment, but that was the first time I really needed the multi-tool to help me out of a jam. I don't go anywhere without it, even when wearing a suit. Thanks guys. A great tool.
