Recently, I went sailing with a friend who was an avid sailor? I do not do sailing for obvious reasons, but, he had a shackle? loose, which rattled in the wind, and not only drove him crazy but me also on the short cruise. He advised me that he had tried everything to tighten the screws on the shackle, to the point of stripping the threads and breaking screwdrivers and had given up. I asked him if he cared if i tried with my SUPER TOOL LEATHERMAN, and he said OK. There was some corrosion and rust in the fitting but i inserted the phillips head @ a 90 deg. angle and it went deep into the screws, and i knew i had something to work with. I turned the screws a couple of turns each, and it tightened up, with no more rattles. I said nothing, waiting for his response, and when he saw the results he was probably the happiest man on earth. He asked how did i do that,, and i just said LEATHERMAN!!! He continued to tell that tale, until he died recently, but i will always remember him and the LEATHERMAN, that may have given him some pleasure in his life.
