I work as a mechanic at a dealership and every so often when working on a truck I find a tool lost by the last person and there usually rusted but useful.I had a radiator removed and noticed an extremely rusted tool sitting in the bottom of the radiator support.Didn't realize it at the time but I was looking a skeletool cx.I knew what type of tool it was and thought it was a run of the mill multi tool you can find at any auto parts store for $5.99.It looked interesting so I thought what the heck so I soaked it in a vinegar and baking soda solution for a few days to loosen the rust.After that I wiped it down with an SOS pad.To my surprise it cleaned up to the point it looked brand new again!I don't think the skeletool cx itself was rusted in any way but rather the radiator support was rusting and the rust stuck to the tool.Unfortunately some of the rust made its way into parts of the tool that couldn't be cleaned and made it not work properly and it was broken so the pliers didn't function properly.I was so impressed by this tool i decided to google it and found Letherman's website discovering it had a 25 year warranty.I gave them a call and told them I wasn't the original purchaser and had no receipt.I was told to send it to them and they would take care of it.I received a replacement today and couldn't be happier.I know for a fact I will be using every function of this tool at work every day so I'm looking forward to it.As far as the bottle opener I need to pick up some beer to see how that works.Thanks Letherman you guys are great!
