Rescued in the Jungle
I traveled with my brother to the country of Surinam and took my Leatherman Super Tool with me as I always do. I've owned this tool for over 20 years now. We went on a jungle trip for a week and I used the tool for pealing fruit and cleaning fish and things like that. I was laughed at by our guides who found it very overdone to have a tool like that.
Then one night we were out on the river in the dark jungle and our outboard motor went broke. Our guides tried to repair the thing, but they dropped their only two tools into the black water. They were scared and didn't know what to do. I offered them my Leatherman if they promised never to laugh at me again for having one with me all the time. They promised. The motor was repaired quickly and, a bit embarrassed, our guides took us back to camp. They kept their promise.
