Service Manager
I work for a "Large" Equipment Rental company. I usually dispatch one of our techs for service calls. One day we were short handed with one mechanic on vacation, one out due to injury and two on other jobs. The call came in from a Large Utility Company who broke the key off in a mini Excavator. I dispatched myself to take care of the call. Since I only had a pickup truck available at the time I had limited tools. I grabbed what I thought would work for the task, a screw driver, adjustable end wrench, channel lock pliers and the replacement key switch. I found on arrival the tools I brought weren't nearly enough. The good news is I have my Leatherman Wave and additional accessory tip set. The tip needed was a 5mm hex. I got two screws out without too much effort. The third screw was locked solid. I put all the effort I could on the Leatherman and the bit holder broke. I was asking too much from the bit holder. After I broke the Leatherman I only had the wrench to turn the bit for the fourth screw. The torque required to loosen the screw broke the bit but I was able to get the screw out and reassemble the panel. I sent the Wave in along with another Wave that I broke the serrated blade off. Both tools were replaced without any hassle. I am now going to recommend Leatherman to anyone who sees me using my Multitool and makes any comment. I am a loyal customer and fan of Leatherman. Not many products will get my endorsement, Leatherman does from now on.
