Leatherman - Top insurance for the NW packer
20 miles deep into a steep gravel USFS road, pulling 12 horses & mules to pack in a group of hunters into the Pasayten Wilderness, the rear drive line on my F-450 dually went chitty chitty bang bang. With no tools on hand, two of my cowboys decided to hike out for help. On my hip was two Leatherman's, the original small pliers and my "crunch". They laughed and called me a dreamer. In about 30 minutes I had the rear drive line off. I lashed the spent line to my flatbed, shoved her in 4 WD using the front drive line, went up the road to find a turn around. Caught up to my cowpokes about 2 miles down the road and told'em to hop in. Turned around again and packed our hunters in with only a 30 minute delay. Both these guys now pack exactly that same combination. They are faithful believers of Leatherman tools!
