For the past 5 years, I've been taking this Leatherman Skeletool CX to the Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert. If you've never been to Black Rock Desert before, just know that it's one of the harshest environments on the planet. Strong alkaline dust is everywhere, and it destroys tools. I've had crowbars that I've left in a dusty crate for a year end up corroded and almost unusable for the next year. Standard pliers will be rusted together in the same environment. This Leatherman has survived 5 YEARS of the event. I've never had the blade sharpened, never done any deep maintenance on it, and it works today as good as the day I bought it. Even if you leave out the other tools, I'd probably keep carrying it as a knife alone. This knife has dug holes in the ground, cut carpet, sharpened sticks, chopped bacon, and it somehow keeps an edge.
