The Hunting Tool
I was going to get the last half of the elk I just shot with my dad and his game cart (which was folded up at the time), and when we got to where the elk was and started to put the game cart together, he realized that we were missing a bolt to hold it together. So he handed me his Leatherman PST and told me to go cut of a piece of extra barbwire we saw on the way down. So I went over and cut it (it took less than 10 seconds), came back and handed him the barbwire and his Leatherman back. He used the needle nose pliers to bend the wire in the place of the bolt and we were ready to go in 10 minutes. Then on the way out we couldn't get the game cart through the barb wire because the cart was too tall. He brought out his Leatherman again and took of two of the hooks and we were able to fit it under. Then he put the fence back again and we kept going.
He has had his PST since the first year the Leatherman came out. It still works great (even though there is some dirt in it) and he has been using it since. A couple of months before I got my elk, I went out and bought a Leatherman Surge. I forgot it that one time, but I doubt I'll do it again. Thanks for saving me and my dad a lot of work.
P.S. My dad and I both got elks on opening day. It was my first elk and it was about 100 to 150 pounds heavier than my dads (the elk was about 600 to 650 lbs total weight). I just wanted to tell you that and to let you know that I shot an elk bigger than my dad's and I'm only 13.
