Found Again Just in Time

In 2000 I went hunting with a few mates; we were after some large pig tusks and on a friend’s 12,500 acre property in Outback Australia. We camped the first night under the stars and near some old tree stumps. During the night we shot some rabbits and, in the process of cleaning them, I placed my Leatherman Wave - a brand new one - on the stump next to me. WELL . . . it fell into a crack in the stump and, not noticing till later, I forgot where I had left it. Time goes on, the 3 week trip finished, and we all went home with one very disappointed hunter after loosing my Leatherman. My wife was furious, as she had given it to me for a Father’s Day present.

6 years later we went hunting on that same property and my vehicle broke down. I was sitting on a stump wondering what I could do to fix it when my mate said, “Use the saw on the Leatherman to cut that hose and fix it.” I said I had lost it. He said, “YOU STUPID IDIOT. THERE IT IS ON THE STUMP, RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.” Found again, just in time.
