Just an Ordinary Day

It was an ordinary day at work; it was a load in for a rock concert. We were rigging lights on one of the trusses onstage. I had my Leatherman on my belt and my wrench attached with a leash next to it. I had just finished hanging the last light when all of a sudden the truss starts moving up. I backed away but suddenly found the leash on my wrench had become intertwined with the truss and I found myself being pulled in and up. Suffering from a sore throat, I couldn't yell loud enough to be heard. Instinct kicked in; I reached for my Leatherman Wave and, thanks to the blades on the outside, I cut my leash. If not for my Leatherman I would be hanging along side the lights.
