Leatherman Saved My Life

I was driving in my Volkswagen Vanagon camper when out of the blue a car pulls out of a side street and t-bones my van. ... Read the Rest of This Story

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.

Canoe Trip

I go with a group of guys every year on a canoe trip, nothing special just a good time on the river fishing enjoying the river, sun and having a few good laughs. We got to our campsite and everything was going fine until we had a problem with the chainsaw (yes, chainsaw; after all, we are a bunch of city boys). Someone forgot to pack the tool for the chainsaw, so I grabbed my Leatherman (Wave) thinking that I was the only one to have one, and the only thing to help fix the chainsaw. While we were trying to get the sparkplug out--the Leatherman broke (the needle nose portion). The two of us working on it looked at each other and said at the same time "plan B". To my surprise 3 of the other guys on the trip walked up and said you can use my Leatherman. In short, we got the spark plug out and there was a little too much gas in the plug and it started after we cleaned everything up, no "plan B". We got the wood cut, fire started, food in our bellies and the stories started to fly along with the laughs.

I carry my Leatherman everywhere I go. I have three of them - one in my fishing gear, one in my hunting gear, and the third is always connected to my hip.

As for the broken Leatherman, it was replaced with no questions asked at the store (Cabela’s).
