Immediate Need

I work as a contract Designer here in Doha, Qatar and brought with me my Victorinox Swiss Champ. But I find it a bit bulky and heavy to carry around for everyday use. Since then I have been browsing in the souqs ( markets) here for a smaller tool like the P4 (my first purchase was a Leatherman Wave which I bought in Singapore, which I gave to my father as a gift, and a Wenger tool chest for myself ). I found only two shops that sell multi-tools and the bigger one only carries a few Leatherman models. A few weeks ago, I acquired blue Micra for my daughter in an accessory shop and was glad when I asked later if they had the P4 and S4 (which I have been looking for in months); for they recommended that I try Radio Shack located on one of the upper floors of the same mall. To my relief there it was, in one corner, were the models I have been looking for. I immediately bought them and got to prove their worth a couple of the days after.

A friend of mine was unusually late on picking me up one weekend and when I called him up said that he was in an accident and needed to leave his car on the roadside because one of the front tires burst when the fender was pushed below the chassis upon hitting another vehicle and punctured it. We were brought on the site by another friend, who also helped in replacing the flat tire. The only remaining problems were one dangling side view mirror and the whole front fender, also half removed from the car. We were able to find some g.i. wires and with the Leatherman P4's aid, was able to temporarily re-attach the parts mentioned. My friend, who more than once asked me why I always carry these tools around, can only smile while he tested the automatic controls for the side view mirror which works nicely as if it was not held on by wires.

Mighty tool, I'd say.
