Ice Fishing Meltdown Averted
I work maintenance and my charge ALX is never out of reach, at work or not...
Last winter I, my dad and another guy were out ice fishing on a semi-remote lake. On the day we left for home, it was warm out and the snow was slushy and wet. On top of that, our over-burdened snowmobile gave out.
We tried to get that machine started but it just wouldn't go. Finally we realized what the problem was; the carburetor wasn't functioning properly. So there we were stuck out on a lake that is only accessible by narrow snowmobile trails with a dead machine. Out jumps my Leatherman Charge ALX, and soon our knowledgeable friend had the machine running. We managed to get back to our truck on another lake without anymore problems.
If not for an extremely handy and portable tool (and perhaps our friend's skill with snowmobiles), we would probably have been sitting there until the thaw. I have tried other tools but nothing beats having a charge in your pocket.
