In the Outback
I spent the month of May camping in the Australia outback. My friend Charlie broke his aluminum tent pole while erecting his tent. I used my Leatherman Wave to remove a broken furrell, and file the jagged broken end down. Using the Leatherman again as a 'hammer' I was able to join up the broken pieces, albeit about 1 inch shorter than original.
Charlie said he dreaded the idea of sleeping in his 'Ute' across Australia. I could tell he admired my Leatherman. I carried it on my belt everywhere I went.
When I left Australia, I left the Leatherman Wave where I knew he would find it. My accompanying note said that "he was required to put it on his belt and wear it everywhere. It would serve him well when he needed it."
