Leatherman Wave Changed My Life
Dear Leatherman,
I am writing to share with you how a Leatherman Wave changed my life. I have owned a Leatherman for quite some time and always have one on my belt or in my pocket.
This story begins on December 1, 2008 when I reached into my sheath to retrieve my Wave and suddenly I realized it wasn't there and the sense of panic and frantic search to find it begins. I looked everywhere I could think of, retraced every single step I took, and then I remembered that I laid in on the rail of the bed of my truck because I was cutting rope to tie down some pieces of wood I was hauling. I looked everywhere for three days and I couldn't find it so I gave up and went to Dick's Sporting Goods and a bought a new one.
So the day I bought the new Wave was December 4, 2008 and I decided I would have my name engraved on it case I lost this one; perhaps someone might find it and return it. I walked into the engraving store at the local mall which I had never been in before; it was empty except for the woman working at the counter. I walked up and started explaining to her what I wanted engraved; she said she understood. Then, I looked in her eyes and was completely lost. I paid her and we stood there and talked for what seemed like an hour but was really only ten minutes. So over the next week I bought more things to be engraved and kept going back to her store until I finally had enough courage to ask her out.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I met a fantastic woman that day, and I firmly believe if I hadn't lost my first Wave I may very well have never met her, which is a very devastating thought. We laugh a lot about how we met, but sometimes things are just meant to be and that is something that seems forgotten sometimes.
P.S. I still have not found the lost Leatherman to this day.
