Leatherman Aids Emergency Vehicle Teams

The KME/Kovatch Organization manufactures Fire apparatus from the ground up, sells and upfits the Ford Police vehicles, and does any custom work that makes a vehicle an emergency vehicle. We are located in Nesquehoning, PA where 800 people are employed. Many of our workers on the floor will carry a Leatherman branded tool every day, but in our fleet and municipal department, it is a tradition that sales and upfit mechanics carry a Leatherman tool. The sales group all carry the Skeletool because of its sleek style; that comes in handy many times a day when out on the road. Our mechanics carry a variety of different models, to help get them out of a tight stop on the floor because it incorporates so many useful tools in one compact package.

A running inside job every morning is the Tool check, at which time everyone must show their Leatherman. If someone forgot their tool at home or does not have it on them, they are shunned for the rest of the day.

We can carry any tool to help us through the day, but we choose Leatherman.
