Fourteen years ago I was on the island of Okinawa at my first duty station in the Marine Corps. I was a telephone and switchboard person. Doing such work required me to run a lot of phone lines one day, cut them down the next, and put them back up again the day after that. Splicing phone lines and screwing them down made having a multi-tool a must. With my Leatherman Super Tool I quickly became one of the faster splicers in my shop.

 

After four years in the Marines, my wife, kids, and I moved back home. I found a job with a local cable company and once again my Super Tool was on my side. I have used it for everything from cutting rope to cutting conduit, and from tightening screws to bolts. One time I was working with a person and we needed to cut a two inch conduit. The other guy went to get a sawzall and I said I can get it with my Leatherman and he laughed...I had it cut by the time he got back.

 

Well, after fourteen years of use my Super Tool was in bad shape. One of the knife blades had broke at the tip and the pliers didn't work so well any more. I decided to try out the famous Leatherman warranty I had heard about. I sent in my Super Tool for repair. To my suprise they sent me a new Super Tool, and it may be even better than my first one. I will let you know in fourteen years or so....
