25 Years Is Too Short For A Good Tool
It started in my early twenties when I bougth my first PST Leatherman. There were no model markings on it, just the plain stamped - "Leatherman Tool, Portland OR, US REG TM 1325473" and with it a warranty card that said "25 Years". I thought to myself, "You must be kidding". But boy, ever since that day, I have never found myself in a situation where I was in lack of tools.
I have worked in various countries in the Far East as a Mechanical Engineer, working in the design centres and in production line of Consumer Electronics. My Leatherman is always first at the scene in every troubled equipment that requires urgent fixed - from loosening PCB carriers, tinkering with design prototypes, dislodging stuck conveyors, aligning optical sensors, to opening a jammed door.
After 18 years of abuse, the tool is still working flawlessly and I'm confident this will still last for more decades. This year, I decided to buy myself the Charge TTi. When my new Leatherman arrived, I was speechless! It has evolved from a basic personal survival multi-tool to an assemblage of powerful gizmos so beautifully put together. I can't wait to use my new Leatherman for the next 20 years and more. There are only few things in life you can rely on and the Leatherman tool is one of them.
