Leatherman Launches the Skeletool RX for First Responders
The Portland, Oregon manufacturer expands its line of rescue multi-tools
Portland, OR—January 19, 2016— Extending their multi-tool offering for first responders, Leatherman Tool Group is thrilled to debut the Rescue Skeletool in January 2016. Building on the success of the Z-Rex and Raptor, the Skeletool RX is a fully functional tool created specifically for first responders and rescue professionals.
Including much more than a simple rescue knife, the Skeletool RX boasts pliers and a variety of removable bits, including a carbide glass breaker. It also features a unique knife blade with a rounded sheepsfoot shape that allows the user to cut through materials, while remaining safe. Utilizing a thumb-hole, the premium 154 CM stainless steel blade can be opened with one hand – even with a glove on. Deeper serrations create more cutting surface and the ability to cut through fibrous or rough materials.
The bright finish is highly visible and is coated with Cerakote, a durable and proven coating used on firearms.
“First responders regularly put their own life on the line for the safety of others. We designed the Skeletool RX keeping space, weight and function in mind, to help keep them safe,” said Leatherman Product Manager Jason Carpenter. “If a responder is present, the situation is likely already tense and having a specifically designed multipurpose tool quickly accessible with just the right features is imperative.”
The Skeletool RX will debut at SHOT Show in January 2016. MSRP is $102.
