Alex Templeton
Hunter & Rancher Polo, Missouri
I was born and raised on my families farming and ranching operation in northwest Missouri. From the moment I was old enough to keep up, I was at my dad’s side. During all aspects of daily farming and ranching work, I was right in the middle of it. After going to college and obtaining a degree, my dad and I made the decision that I was to come back and work on the ranch. I went from working with him growing up just as “fun” to now turning it into my actual livelihood. Hunting has also been a huge part of my life. I began hunting when I was about seven or so. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten very serious about bow hunting. Managing our farms to grow mature Whitetails is one of my favorite hobbies.
Working with animals can be extremely challenging, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. In my opinion, I have the best job in the world. I get to work alongside my family every day and spend all of my time outside. I’m living my own personal dream!
Fun Facts
I have my B.S. in Hospitality Management with and emphasis in Conference and Event Management and a minor in Business.
I sometimes have to raise calves on a bottle. A few years ago, I raised a bottle calf I became so attached to that I kept her! You’ll often see me and my pet cow Lily around the farm.
I grew up being the biggest tomboy you could imagine. But now I have a girly side. I love my hair, makeup, and fashion. My guilty pleasure.
Go-To Leatherman
Skeletool®
Easily the Skeletool. It seems like things are always breaking and needing worked on here on our ranch. The Skeletool has just enough features to fix and work on just about anything, but small enough to fit comfortable in the pocket of my work jeans. Being a woman I also have smaller hands. And being able to use the tool effectively with one hand is a huge bonus for me.
