The Leatherman Wingman is just that: your go-to tool for projects around the house, on the job, or at the campsite. A great, lightweight, pocket-sized, stainless steel tool; the Wingman features an outside-accessible, one-hand opening blade and newly-designed spring-action jaws. With plenty of handy tools, and backed by a team of designers, assemblers, and manufacturing crew from Portland, Oregon, this is one amazing value. Covered by the Leatherman 25-year warranty.

Wingman® Tools

  1. Spring-action Needlenose Pliers

A precise cast pinching tool for holding or manipulating materials, ideal for small objects or tight spaces, that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  2. Spring-action Regular Pliers

A precise cast pinching tool for holding or manipulating materials, that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  3. Spring-action Wire Cutters

Bypassing cutting blades meant for cutting regular-gauge wire, that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Spring-loaded tools are helpful for reducing hand fatigue that can occur when manually adjusting the grip on the tool with one hand.

  4. Wire Stripper

A useful notch for safely stripping multiple types of wire.

  5. 420HC Combo Knife

A knife made from 420HC stainless steel with a half straight and half serrated edge. This style of blade gives the user a choice of precise cuts using the plain section, or cutting through fiber and rougher material using the serrated area.

  6. Spring-action Scissors

Scissors for cutting paper or other light materials that automatically spring back to the open position when not being used. Sprung tools are helpful for reducing hand-fatigue, especially in scissors where the user may be opening and closing the tool many times to make multiple cuts in a row.

  7. Package Opener

This angled tool allows for easy opening of tough packaging material such as theft-deterrent plastic or packing tape.

  8. Ruler (1.5 in | 3.8 cm)

A precise measuring guide for determining length in inches or centimeters, up to 1.5 inches or 3.8 centimeters.

  9. Can Opener

A lever/punch style tool to assist in opening canned goods, perfect for camping or in survival situations. The blade on this tool has been ground in a way that it pushes the cut metal into the rim, keeping sharp edges from cutting the user as the can is handled.

  10. Bottle Opener

A tool that allows the user to pop the top on a favorite beverage.

  11. Wood/Metal File

A 420HC stainless steel tool with a crisscross pattern that forms a rough surface for the user to file or smooth both wood and metal surfaces. The file pattern on Leatherman files is extended to the end of the file as well as down the side to give a file stoke and/or a more precise file edge.

  12. Phillips Screwdriver

Created originally by Henry F. Phillips, this screwdriver is for use on Phillips head screws.

  13. Medium Screwdriver

A flat bladed screwdriver tooled from 420HC stainless steel, intended for use on medium slotted screws.

  14. Small Screwdriver

A flat bladed screwdriver tooled from 420HC stainless steel, intended for use on small slotted screws.

Wingman® Features

  1. Replaceable Pocket Clip

A removable clip which allows the user to wear their multi-tool attached to a pocket or belt loop without the use of a sheath. By removing the clip, the user is able to easily carry their tool in a sheath if preferred.

  2. Outside-accessible Features

This multi-tool features tools that are accessible while the tool is in its folded or closed position, mimicking the functionality of a pocket knife.

  3. One-hand Operable Features

Every feature on this tool can be opened and operated with one hand. This enables the user to keep the other hand free for situations that require multi-tasking or a free hand.

owned this "tool" for 2 months and the screwdriver blade broke, so i had to pay to ship it back to get it repaired. After getting it back guess what..same blade broke again.I was told by customer service they would send me another type got a refurbished wingman back instead in worse shape than the one i sent in. Not only is the tool junk Leathermans customer service is horrible, save your money and buy another brand.

I was a bit disappointed in the engraving. It's not really engraving in the tactile sense. It is probably laser something, but it just looks printed.

She be the handiest dandiest tool for the money. I never leave port without her. Although I find the handles a little slippery and gnarly in an old seadogs hands. Therefore she rates 4 starfish.

                  Comments about Wingman:

I have owned both the wave and skeleetool for years and they are loved but o never had the urge to write s review until I picked up the wingman. This is by far my mist favorite tool in the leatherman range by far. The size and build quality makes it the ultimate EDC. I forget it's in my pocket until it's needed. The parcel/box/blister pack/ letter opener/ everything opener I'd by far my favorite poecein the kit. Good thinking Mr leatherman!!!. It saves your ultra sharp blade for for more precise tasks. I just love the tool to the point where I just had yo go back and buy two more as spares. This is by far the best EDC to hit the shores if Australia.

I will start off with repeating this is truly a life saver literally it is perfect for use in the fire department here and so that tells you it is worthy of the name wingman as I would have taken it overseas in the air force the only problem I have with it is that it seems like a saw or serated knife could have fit in just fine but none the less it helps me save lives such as when I used it to break a window and cut seat belts but also at home as I love to put things together I once did a whole diy project with this tool and only this tool I'd never trust my life and others life in a different tool.

                            Comments about Wingman:

The Wingman is almost perfect. Its great for its quick changes of parts and and setting up of equipment while out of the office. The only thing I wish is that the scissors had more spring to them.

Got these as gifts for my groomsmen in my upcoming wedding. I had them laser etched as well. Turn around time was much quicker than I expected even with the etching. I also forgot to fill out something during the checkout and Racquel helped me get that squared away with no problems at all. Awesome Leatherman product! Will definitely buy again...I wish I had ordered one for myself!

I work as an engineer and often carry the Wingman when completing new equipment validation. You never know which tools you'll need as there are a wide range of equipment on each job and all kinds of unexpected issues. It's impractical to carry a toolbox full of tools you 'might' need so having a Wingman in my pocket is a lifesaver.

                                      Comments about Wingman:

As a retail store manager, I was constantly having to go to the back to get the toolbox to fix older fixtures. After purchasing my Wingman over two years ago, I no longer have to waste time walking back and forth. The low profile design allows me to keep it in my pocket instead of on my belt (which would look funny with the suit I have to wear). When I unload a truck and have to cut each carton open as I take it off, I feel the carton opening tool is much safer to use than a typical box cutter in such a fast paced environment. My Wingman has held up to all the punishment I have given it so far, and has performed all but the heaviest of duties. I tell everyone that my Wingman is the best $40 I have ever spent.

                                      Comments about Wingman:

The Wingman helps me with most of my traditional bow maintenance - I use it to install and trim bowstring silencers, adjust the nocking point, file wooden arrow shafts, and even pull out the misplaced arrows.

It lacks trad bow-specific functions, but since Leatherman focuses mostly on compound bow users, it manages very well.

It's nearly perfect as a EDC tool - like I mentioned in the title, I never leave home without it. It opens packages, cuts wires, tightens screws, helps in furniture assembly and cutting price tags from new clothes.

There's only one con - it lacks a corkscrew! In fact, there isn't a single Leatherman tool in this price range that has it! The Juice is too expensive. I can recall at least half a dozen stories, when my friends brought wine along and deliberately left the corkscrew at home, because they knew I have a Leatherman - and were utterly surprised that there is no corkscrew in it! Since then I carry 3 tools: the Wingman in my pocket, the Micra on my keychain, and a folding corkscrew! Please, include a corkscrew into the Wingman setup!

                                        Comments about Wingman:

This is my first Leatherman product. I bought this because it is bit smaller, a bit lighter, but still well-made, and it comes with a built-in pocket clip (vs. a sheath).

I am a female, so I don't want a big bulky sheath on my hip, but I don't mind clipping a decent knife or tool in my front pocket. I bought this so I'd have something I could carry; I used to have a Swiss Army knife but it just didn't have the features I would occassionally need when outdoors like a pair of pliers! This is nearly perfect: small, light, super sturdy, and SHARP! Holy cow, the knife blade is sharp!

I got my Wingman about 2 weeks ago and took it camping last weekend. Well, a thunderstorm happened upon us and I had to scramble to get a tarp setup to keep us and our gear dry... whipped out the Wingman and it sliced through the paracord we used to secure the tarp like butter! It was awesome. 2 days later, we trying to fix a leaky toilet at home (hey, I am handy!) and needed a screwdriver... recalled that I had my Wingman close by so I whipped it out and tightened the tank bolts! Super! Loving this thing so much I am about to buy a second one for my teenage son (who also loves his Swiss Army knife)! I am guessing he'll love this as much as I do!

                                            Comments about Wingman:

Absolutely love my wingman, he always has my back. I take my tool above and beyond the casual user and I never go anywhere without it, not even from one room of my home to another. It has all the tools necessary for me to do almost anything and I know in an emergency situation that I can count on my wingman to carry me through. I have broken 2 of them now and I am very thankful for the warranty. I would not say that there is any quality issues as I use my tool several times a day and it has held up overall far better than I had expected and a gozillion times better than any other tool I have used. This tool is very fluid and comfortable to use and I often use it one handed. I like the clip on the side, I would like to see the larger tools with a similar clip as I find the pouches cumbersome and uncomfortable, also I do not wear belts very often. I definitely recommend this to everyone that needs a general use multi-tool, especially those working on a budget.

Stays tight no matter how often its opened and used. Have used 7 months.

Really like the sissors and knife blade that Wingman has in handle without opening entire tool.

Perfect size, comfortable in either hand . Don't use clip , carry in a leather pouch on my belt.

Great tool, but my only complaint is the combo edge blade, once the serrations are dull, game over.

This is a great tool to carry every day. It has about all the tools you need to take care of any crisis you might encounter in a work day. The pocket clip allows for an easy carry along with the one handed opening make this one of the go-to tools I have. The package opener is one of the coolest tools LM has developed and would like to see it implemented on other tools, and it comes in handy for jobs besides opening packages. All in all, a great tool.

I have owned many Leathermans from the Damascus Wave to the Squirt. This is nearly an ideal daily carry utility tool. The pocket clip allows me to have it everywhere I go, and once it is always with you, you will find even more convenient uses for it. I was going to start writing down everything I have used this tool for, but it would be a book. The tool itself is well built and not too heavy. The "pull" blade is great for opening packaging! If I could improve one thing, it would be the scissors, they work in a pinch, but often will not cut anything heavier than paper. Fortunately the wicked sharp blade will make short work of pretty much anything else, I have owned the tool almost year now and am just now considering sharpening it.

I own two Leatherman tools: the tiny "Micro," which takes up virtually no space in my pocket; and this one, the "Wingman," which I keep in the backpack I carry everywhere. For me, this is the perfect combination. I believe the Wingman gives the best bang for the buck by far and if I had to choose just one tool it would be this one. I first learned about this little wonder one summer when I worked as a grip (general laborer) on a film production near Los Angeles. I was trained by an old veteran who carried this tool with him to do everything: fix and adjust equipment, set lights, lash down gear, etc. He had spent years carrying a tool pouch filled with various tools, but abandoned all of it to his Leatherman and a pair of gloves. His example made a believer of me. The only thing you can fault the Wingman for is its weight; it feels a bit bulky in your pants pocket. I wish they made these out of lightweight titanium, but then nobody would be able to afford one, would they!?
