The Leatherman grant program provides funding for not-for-profit organizations who are solving problems and paving the way for change.

WHO CAN APPLY
Program is open to organizations formed and operated for charitable, educational or scientific purposes that qualify as not-for-profit organizations in their country of incorporation (e.g. 501(c)3 entity in the United States or equivalent outside of the United States that are not affiliated with any religious group, church or religious organization or political or lobbying campaign.
The individual submitting an Application on behalf of his or her organization must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their country of residence. Note that no more than one grant award will be provided for an Application.
By submitting an application, each applicant agrees to abide by the Program terms. The selection of Applicants to receive grant awards by the Grant Committee is final in all respects. Leatherman reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each Applicant and to conduct due diligence and background checks prior to the selection of any grant award recipients.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. PT on August 31, 2018 (the "Application Deadline"). Applications must be received prior to the Application Deadline to be considered for the Program. Once an Application is submitted, no additional uploads or further edits can be made to the submission.
HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
Eligible applicants must visit [www.leatherman.com/grants] ("Program Website") and follow the instructions to submit the requested information and answers to the application form, including complete contact information and required documentation (each an "Application") via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications submitted in a manner other than as provided through the Program Website or that are incomplete or do not include applicable supporting material may not be reviewed or considered fully. Applications must be no longer than the maximum word length provided on Program Website. Failure to include all required information may result in disqualification. Only Applications submitted in this manner will be accepted. No faxed or mailed entries will be accepted. Please retain a copy of your Application as Applications will not be returned. There is a limit of one (1) Application per Applicant.
Receipt of an Application will not be acknowledged, and proof of submission will not be deemed proof of receipt. Leatherman has no obligation to advise an entrant of an incomplete or non-compliant Application. Leatherman is not responsible for lost, late, invalid, unintelligible, incomplete, garbled, or misdirected Applications. All submissions must be in keeping with Leatherman's image and may not be offensive, as determined by Leatherman. Falsification of information in the Application or instances of infringement of the rights of others or violation of anyone's privacy may result in disqualification. Applicants must adhere to all laws and regulations in submission of Applications. Leatherman may disqualify any submission in its discretion (including submissions with unsuitable content or that are in violation of third-party rights or these Program terms).
NOTE: Applicants acknowledge that Leatherman may have products or services that are similar or competitive to ideas and concepts provided in an Application and nothing shall impair Leatherman's rights to develop, make, use, or market products or services now or in the future that may be similar or competitive with those in an Application. Leatherman has no obligation to maintain information contained in an Application as confidential, so Applicants should not include confidential or proprietary information within an Application.
We request that you not display, print, publish or post your Application for any public display of any kind. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification.
Leatherman intends to award a total of $100,000 USD divided in grant award increments of $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000 to Applicants as determined by the Grant Award Committee. Leatherman reserves the right not to award all the grant funding or to award amounts in excess of the increments identified above.
GRANT AWARD COMMITTEE
A committee selected by Leatherman will review the Applications and select potential finalists to present to the Leatherman executive team for final selection and grant awards.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION PROCESS
Grant Award Committee review will take place on or about the period from September 1, 2018 to [September 30, 2018]. The potential finalists will be notified according to contact information provided by the entrants at the time of entry on or about [October 10, 2018]. Applicants should keep Leatherman notified of any change in contact information. If a potential finalist does not respond to notification or cannot be reached by Leatherman, that potential finalist may be disqualified and another potential finalist selected from the remaining Applications. Applicants not selected as potential finalists will not be notified.
Grant recipients will be announced following conclusion of the Grant Award Committee review, currently anticipated to be on or about October 15, 2018.
Applicant must agree to submit a report to Leatherman showing the impact of the award, including photos and videos and, where appropriate, a plan to cross-promote on own social media channels and website. Each Applicant grants Leatherman the perpetual right in connection with the Program to use, display and publicly perform the audio and video recordings and photographs of Applicant and to use Applicant's name, statements, organization information and Application materials for purposes of publicizing the Program, without additional compensation.
This Program is not intended to create a relationship between Leatherman and any Applicant, such as a partnership, franchise, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship. Applicant agrees that it has the sole right to control its personnel and is solely responsible for the compensation and performance of all of its employees and personnel.
In order to administer the Program, entrants will be required to provide certain personal data to Leatherman. By submitting an Application, each Applicant agrees that Leatherman may contact the Applicant in relation to the Program based on the contact information provided with the Application. BY SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION FOR THE PROGRAM, APPLICANTS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE CONSENTED TO HAVING THEIR PROVIDED PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED, PROCESSED AND USED BY LEATHERMAN IN ORDER TO DETERMINE AND CONTACT THE APPLICANTS AND POTENTIAL GRANT RECIPIENTS. Leatherman reserves the right to terminate, suspend or amend the Program, without notice, for any reason, including if Leatherman determines the Program cannot be conducted as planned or should a virus, unauthorized intervention, technical failure or other cause corrupt the administration, security, fairness, or integrity of the Program. Leatherman and its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of information, or for any human error, technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or software, or the inability to access any online service. BY SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION, EACH APPLICANT AGREES TO RELEASE, AND HOLD HARMLESS LEATHERMAN AND ALL ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS FROM ANY LIABILITY TO ANYONE OR ANY ENTITY, AND DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR INJURY TO ANYONE OR ANY ENTITY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM OR THE ACCEPTANCE OF ANY GRANT THAT MAY BE AWARDED.
Except as otherwise expressly provided by applicable law or the laws of entrant's country of residence, all issues and questions concerning the Program and Applications shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States of America, without giving effect to that state's choice-of-law or conflicts-of-law provisions.
