Bit Heavy and Bulky

"I really like access to the extra bits and tools that can be added. The tool itself is heavy for pocket carry, and the belt carrier is very bulky with all the pieces /bits added. I love the old school rectangular leather case used in other leatherman tools - would be nice to have a more compact way to belt carry this one."

A beast in the field for half the price of a MUT

"I've used the ST300M as an infantryman for almost two years. All the tools are still in great shape, the knife still cuts 550 cord like butter and i've miraculously not lost any of the screwdriver bits. Its large enough to use with combat gloves on, and durable enough to survive ranger school. Only complaints are that the front sight post adjuster prongs are a little too wide for use on issued M4 FSPs, and that some of the screwdriver bits interfere with the closing of the tool when stowed. I just replaced it with a MUT for its weapon cleaning tools and bigger knife blade, but I wont be throwing it away anytime soon, and its my go-to gift for any new soldier on my team."

Tool is good, order process badNot too bad

"It is difficult to tell what exactly comes with the tool. Looks like you need to order the bit driver and bits separately. I called to ask and they said it came with the bit driver, no bits. My order arrived and it did, indeed, have the bit driver, however, it also had a set of bits. Not the two sets that are pictured, just one. I still do not know what is supposed to come with it. The website order section shows that you need to order the bit driver and bits separately, but the tools included shows that you should get the bit driver too. The same picture does not show that a set of bits are included. All this slowed down my order process and made me second guess what I would be getting. This was a gift for my son who just completed Army boot camp and Advanced Individual Training, so I was concerned that I would not have a gift for him when he arrived home. Turned out fine, but the process was not as simple as it should have been."

The individual bits are loose

"The individual bits are loose at times and fall out of the tool, making them easy to lose. I prefer the leather pouch, the new poly/kevlar style is rather bulky."
