Good, but wears faster than expected

"I'm really enjoying the Surge. It's beefy and much more solid than my other Leathermans. My only concern us the needle nose pliers. I bent a couple of wires and the teeth are already starting to chip. Still functions but I didn't see this wear on my other ones (Sidekick, Charge, Free P2)"

"My son-in-law is an Engineer and the VP of his company. I observed him checking my Leatherman out; mine is designed for Explosives. I figured that for his promotion to VP, I would get him the Surge; my daughter said he just loves it. "I like the versatility of this product. The black coating scratches easily. The first time I used it, I set it on my truck console. Just from bouncing around on the road for an hour covered the entire tool in silver scratches.Would have been nice if that was noted before ordering. For the cost of this tool, the coating should be more durable."
