"I think Leatherman needs to find some way to weed out buyers looking to sell for big profits and buyers who actually collect and use Leatherman products. Found plenty on eBay for 3-4 times the selling price. And for some reason I get the emails after the release of the garage product. Not very satisfied with the way Leatherman releases their garage products."
"Man this sucks! I signed up for the email alerts and never received anything. Waited a long time for this release and was never given the opportunity to purchase it. Big time let down from leatherman."
"The tool itself is as described but the shipping time and non existent communication with leatherman was disappointing."
"I am incredibly frustrated. I've been looking for a Crunch for under $300 for over five years, and this seemed like an answer to my prayers. I subscribe to the garage emails, and got the announcement email the day before. The next day I was never able to buy one. I emailed Leatherman and was told that I must not have subscribed and so I missed out. I'm starting to wonder if the Leatherman Garage program is a bait and switch. I have worn a Leatherman multitool every single day since I was 10 years old. That is over 30 years. I buy them as gifts and I use them as object lessons to young men describing how, like a Leatherman tool, we need to excel at multiple things, and guarantee our work. I think I need to add that the Garage program is like the guys living in their parent’s garage - they won’t have much opportunity in life if they stay there."
"Listen, I get that some people are very frustrated because they either missed the opportunity to purchase, they weren’t ready, or life just got in the way. That is expected from any release in the garage. What I don’t get is that you all choose to write a “review”, expressing those frustration, on the tool that you failed to purchase (and I assume use) in the first place. Who is that helping? Now that that is out of the way, I was in-fact interested enough to know something was coming and diligent enough to check consistently for a garage store update. Winner! This thing fits perfectly into my rotation, I already EDC an arc with both 711L mini ratchets and a pretty loaded sheath: Fischer space pen, utility knife for constant carpet cuts at work, & 2 loaded Leatherman bit slips. I also often use 1/4” impact driver bits and carry a set that fit my Leatherman compatible mini ratchets well. With all that said, I wasn’t sure how this would fit into the mix, if I would rotate or even use it. I was familiar with the original crunch, but I had never held it in hand or seen it in person, so I didn’t know what to expect. I went for it anyway. Shipping took really long but again knowing the drill on garage releases (inter-web research) that was expected, a bit grueling but expected. Upon arrival I was impressed at the quality and craftsmanship of this little guy, the little detailed gold finish is a beauty and its size is really small compared to the arc or any free series frame. The sheath is really nice and I appreciate the genuine leather (smells amazing lol) I know this thing will hold up over time. The flat bit driver is awesome at retention compared to the arc (with 711L ratchets) and the 1/4” bit driver under the vise screw is simply genius! The plier head is beautiful, it’s different enough form the arc to cover jobs the arc cannot and vise versa. I didn’t think I would use the scalpel blade until I held the tool in hand but I know now I will and I have ordered a box of 100 #24 blades to toss in my tool box next to the utility blades and I plan on fitting those into my routine. The website description says it comes with two bits, and I only received one (3/16 flat and No1-2 Phillips) no biggie. Photos with an arc for reference. I will most likely update this review once I’ve been in the wild with my new set up for a couple months. Thanks Leatherman!"
"Build quality was great and the scalpel / t-shank adapter is a cool new design. Big fan!"
"I have no words. I have been shut out of making a purchase every time something has come up in the garage that I was interested in. Every. Single. Time. Not that the tools aren’t possibly cost-prohibitive once they do go on sale, they’re snapped up so fast I never have managed to purchase one. And then the online resales start … Bad enough that all the regular tools are being marketed with color schemes rather than new ideas. What is the point of these interest groups if truly interested people never can get one of these tools, even at the already high prices being charged by Leatherman? Anybody got any ideas how to fix this?"
