"This knife is a great EDC carry, because it is stronger than most everyday tools. Couple odd quirks, but that's why its a garage tool. The one-hand open is nice, and the blade is one of my sharper ones. Has a really balanced feeling, and additionally the change out blade provides another option for work-based use. Just be careful were you keep it tho, couple times I've put it in my jeans or cleaned it with my shirt and the dye has rubbed off on the white handle, washes out nice but still a little inconveniet. Excellent knife overall. Leatherman should make more!"
"This release disappointed many fans of Leatherman Multitools. I was skeptical about it too, but it grows on me. I like how it feels in my hand, how it operates ( it doesn’t have spring assisted opening but opens easily with help of thumb stud), I like the color. I don’t think it was created to be battoned on to the wood logs at the campsite , iykwim, but strong enough to be a trail companion. Actually with the color scheme it’ll better suit the concrete jungle cowboy ;)"
"Review based on price point = FREE P4 blade quality it great, fit and finish not to what Leatherman normally put out even with the painted part of paint is chipping off not 100% fan of the way the blade comes out but like I idea of the changing my blades but not the way this knife does it not crap but not great"
"Pros: shipped double boxes to keep integrity of inner box pristine! Cons: awkward ergonomics. knifes powder coating chips of really easy. Found this out when knife and extra blade became dislodged during initial shipment chipping the brand new unused knife in two places. LM said “tough luck” won’t do anything about it. Knife blade is awkward to change and is not easy enough to justify changing often. Pics show how knife arrived inside the box and one of the chips on the knife. Some will love it, just not as nice as my other knives and doesn’t have the multi tool capacity of my charge tti so not too amazed with it."
"The package did not protect the knife properly my blade was loose and damaged the handle of the knife. some paint chip off. I was disappointed"
"The knife is great and feels great. But for being an limited edition, you would think there would be better care in the assembly process. My knife came with tool marks that removed the powder coat (I assume a vise or pliers) on the blade retention/thumb lug."
"It's a cool concept. Incredibly light weight and it would be nice to see more super steel type blades on more leatherman products to be honest. If I had any complaints it would be that the threads on the blades screw is relying more than I'd care on threadlocker and a tighter tolerance class 2 or 3 thread would be better."
"Hello, I ordered the Garage #003 tool the moment it became available and early awaited its arrival. As a daily carrier of both Leatherman multi-tools and folding knives I was eager to incorporate this knife the rotation of pocket tools. I find the visual form of the tool to be exquisite. I love the crisp lines and simple intersections of them. Very pleasing color scheme with a very attractive name, I thought Lunar was the perfect name. The tools has a gentle feel in the hand and proportions are great. The mechanical design of the interchangeable blade works very well and what I was most excited for as a feature in this very expensive pocket knife that I purchases site-unseen. The issue with this tool lies mostly with the poor quality-control leaving the Leatherman facility. My tool had several issues. There is a discolored section on the left face of the S30V blade, if I had to guess it was from an accidental collision with a grinder belt. Another issue was with the yellow coating around the blade retainer. As this was one of the features I as most excited about, I was disappointed to see it less than perfect. And I think what was most disappointed in was how the tool looked after just two light duty work days. The tool was tinged with denim dye from my jeans… These were not new jeans, worn in and washed many times. The G10 was so easily stained that ever after several attempts at cleaning the scales with an assortment of gentle cleansers they still show evidence of just a few hours in my pocket. How am I supposed to use this tool without ruining it? Am I supposed to only use it with certain pants? Am I limited to how many times I can change the blade before more of the yellow coating chips off and the looks get worse? I loved this knife on paper and completely regret ordering it."
"I have always wanted a Leatherman knife. Like a legit…. edc knife. I’m a Benchmade Bugout man, so replacing that rig in my pocket is no easy task. Their knife has many of the qualities I find advantageous about my Bugout. Ergonomics, light weight, ease of operation, etc. and having the ability to switch out my blade for a different profile is very handy. I personally love this knife. I carry it every day."
"This is a great Leatherman collector piece. As far as being a great knife collector piece, it falls short. I purchased this for one reason, to keep it as a collection piece which is perfect for that! When my product arrived, the extra blade was loose inside the box, and the thumb stud screw was left extremely loose. Further QA/QC is highly recommended."
