"The Captain Crunch had exactly what I needed. A crunch with a removable knife blade. It was to expensive for what it is, but what can you do. Leatherman, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to discontinue the crunch line. Hopefully it will hold up as well as my old crunch. Here is hoping I will never need any warranty work. Good luck if you are looking for one. The scalpers have grabbed quite a few. Seems like our only hope going forward is that some Chinese brand ignores the patent. Guess that's the world we live in now."
"I was lucky enough to actually get this tool. The only issue I have with it is that the but driver and t shank are extremely difficult to get closed. The release on the handle is way too tight. I think I was just unlucky enough to get a defective one. I'm scared to ship it back for repair as I don't think I'll get it back. Other than that, I do use the tool regularly as the vice grips are clutch."
"Great tool overall—it took a little time to get used to, but it works well. I do wish the scalpel were easier to swap out, or that it had been designed with scissors or a fixed blade instead. As it is, changing the scalpel can feel borderline dangerous. I’m not sure why Leatherman is discontinuing the crunch, but who knows"
"As far as build quality goes, excellent. This particular piece is a poor design. The new bit holder does not allow the Ratchet to fully seat. The combo razor/file/saw holder is just a bad idea. IF the bit holder would hold the Ratchet and the razor and t-shank holder were independent of one another I would love this tool. Having to remove a razor to use a file is a bit much. I did purchase Garage 09 as well. I plan to carry them as a pair. The pair will solve my Ratchet and t-shank issues, hopefully."
"One of the most beloved and missed leatherman's made a quick return for batch release 008 and sold out in under one hour. This multitool has the standard crunch frame but with a twist with the inside tools. A bit driver and a blade exchanger for either the scalpel, same or file. Very cool node to the original but giving us a different twist."
"I am not overly impressed with this tool. The upgraded tool set is fun but not any more useful than the original. A separate blade holder and saw/file holder would be better. Having to remove the scalpel blade to swap to the saw or file is difficult and dangerous (I own these type of knives and use them in the field). The finish of the tool overall is sub-par compared to the original tools. I have a 2000 version that is in better shape. The best part of the package is the sheath with the built in saw and file holder. From a collection standpoint point it was worth buying but that's it. Glad to have it in my collection but I would never carry it to use, there are much better options out there including an original one that stays with me in my truck kit."
"It’s an upgrade to the recent crunch. The removable scalper blade is very sharp. I love the sleek t-shank blade holder that goes with it. Leatherman engineering team outdid themselves again."
"Over the years working as a tradesman and around other tradesmen it was common to hear this exchange, "Hey, how are you doing over there?" "OK, I just need another hand. " I carry the Arc and the Crunch while I am on the job. Every once and a while I need hold a stiff wire and put a bend on it. Sometimes I'll go to do a "look and see," only to figure out I can repair the problem with the tools on my belt, saving time to walk back to the truck for tools. The crunch is a tool that should never been discontinued. Many times I want to give a unique and very useful gift and the crunch is both of those. I am asking the Leatherman Group to reduce the price and bring this much needed tool back to market. There really is nothing like it available to purchase anywhere."
"Great tool love vise grips but wish tools weren’t so redundant if you will also would be awesome if you made a pocket clip work for it as not really a sheath kinda person but understand needing for the t holder."
