Great tool & saves me a lot of trips back & forth

"I’ve had the Leatherman Surge since May have used it often for fishing, gardening & projects around the house. When you realize you need a different screwdriver, a pair of pliers, something to cut with, etc. that you didn't know you need & did not bring along the Surge usually has what you need & now I don't have to stop what I’m doing and walking back to the garage for another tool. The tool is heavier than expected but I have gotten used to that & the removable file & saw blade w/ the ability to load any t-shank jig saw blade is a big plus."

Saves me a lot of trips back to the garage

"I’ve had the Leatherman Surge since May and have gotten quite a bit of use out of it. Where I find it most useful is when I’m working on projects around the house & fishing. When you realize you need a different screwdriver, a pair of pliers, something to cut with, etc. A lot of the time I can just reach for the Surge instead of stopping what I’m doing and walking back to the garage for another tool. The one thing that concerned me at first was how heavy it is. The Surge is definitely not a lightweight tool, and you know when you have it on you, the weight hasn’t really bothered me for the way I use it. Also, love the detachable file & saw blade & the fact that the tool will accept t-shank jig saw blade is a big plus."

Best EDC Tool!

"This will be my second Leatherman Surge after unfortunately losing my first one. This tool has been great for EDC, especially as a welder, which is my primary use for it. The Surge really helps reduce the number of individual tools I need to carry and puts a lot of useful functions into one compact, dependable tool. I also have the Rebar and Wave Plus, but I primarily reach for the Surge because I use it for just about everything on the job. For me, it’s one of those tools that is a must have to carry on you every day."

"An absolute masterpiece and a beast of a multitool! It’s an absolute must to have if you’re always on the go and needing to fix something or tweak things. It’s like carrying a portable toolbox."

"The tool came just in time to do repairs, my previous tool was the super tool 300 I lost it, losing it was like taking away my right hand, I don't know if anyone else feels this way but almost always with me."

Good, but wears faster than expected

"I'm really enjoying the Surge. It's beefy and much more solid than my other Leathermans. My only concern us the needle nose pliers. I bent a couple of wires and the teeth are already starting to chip. Still functions but I didn't see this wear on my other ones (Sidekick, Charge, Free P2)"

First, I needed a new pair of pliers, and then. . .

". . . long story short, I wound up at the Leatherman site. I'm a site manager for an artist cooperative housed in a historic Saint Paul warehouse, and I realized the Surge had the exact tools that I often need for quick fixes on the fly. Like many Leatherman reviews, I found I had use for it immediately right out of the box. Brilliant design and a real pleasure to use."

Purchased for my Son in Law

"My son-in-law is an Engineer and the VP of his company. I observed him checking my Leatherman out; mine is designed for Explosives. I figured that for his promotion to VP, I would get him the Surge; my daughter said he just loves it. As an executive, he still likes to get out in the field with the Bridge design and construction; he loves to carry the Surge and use it whenever he can. We both know that Leatherman is the leader and originator of multi-tools and quality design. We can’t say enough! Thanks, Leatherman, for another great design."
