"Liked the original Wave. Had one since they came out. About 20 years. The Alpha version is a definite improvement. Worth the cost. Having the knife, scissors, file & saw accessible without opening the handles is wonderful. Handle improvements are much appreciated. The anti pinch feature is what sold me. I threw a competitors away after using it ONCE because of the severe blood blister it gave me on my palm. Congratulations Leatherman on the new Alpha design and features."

"I use it every day at work. Don’t know what I would do without it. I work for the Solid Waste Division for the city , finding lead batteries in kid toys and scooters. Batteries are not allowed at the landfill. My wave alpha is way better than having a pocket full of tools."

A Dad’s Gift to his Daughter’s New Career

"My 24-year daughter, Madeleine landed a dream summer position as a Park Ranger at Katmai National Park. To congratulate her on landing the new position, I ordered an orange (her favorite color) Leatherman Wave and had her name inscribed on the blade. She was so happy and said with excitement “You got me a Leatherman!” Then I mentioned something like it has some special super sharp blade and upon opening it, she saw her name resulting in instant tears of surprise and happiness. Nice tool, but could be better.

"I have several Leatherman tools, which I use frequently. I'm a fan. The Alpha is a great looking tool. But for the price, it could use some obvious refining: 1. The pocket clip does not fit firmly and moves greatly from side to side. I've never had this problem before with a premium Leatherman. And at this price point, why is the pocket clip not included? 2. The scissors are not as premium as expected. The scissors on larger Swiss Army knives are much better finished and operate better. 3. The side ruler markings are missed. How cheap do you have to be to eliminate a tool that is just simple engraving?"

Almost perfect

"Found all is fully functional and the finish is very nice. However the thumb screw that is in the main blade is stripped and keeps coming loose. Brass is soft"

loving mine

"So I got mine back in June from US Patriot Tactical, and I have been loving it so far. I have used it in the field/ on my bike and at home a lot of times since then, and I can say it's been great so far. Bought other Leathermans before (Rebar, 2 micras/ wave +, and the 300m), and this has been by far my favorite so far. Nice and small with a nice range of tools; by far my favorite part is that the knife has no problem going through a lot of the stuff boxes, 550 cord, and as I found my thumb too :) It's been a great tool overall."
